JAKARTA – PT Kenertec Power System (KPS) and PT Korintiga Hutani (KTH) have earned the prestigious 2023 Subroto Award. The companies were recognized for their contributions in the fields of New and Renewable Energy and Bioenergy, respectively. The awards were officially presented by the Indonesian Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (MEMR) on Friday, September 29th.

The Subroto Award is the highest accolade conferred by the MEMR, honoring parties who have demonstrated exceptional leadership and progress in advancing Indonesia’s energy and mineral resources sector over the past year.

Representing their companies at the ceremony, which commemorated the 78th Mining and Energy Anniversary, were Mr. Choi Chang Don, General Manager of PT Kenertec Power System, and Ms. Tantri Oktaviana. In her statement, Ms. Oktaviana expressed immense pride in PT Kenertec’s success in securing such a distinguished award.

“PT Kenertec Power System is incredibly grateful and proud to receive such a high honor,” Ms. Oktaviana remarked. “The competition was formidable, with three to four other major companies in our category whose remarkable achievements could not be overlooked.”

Prior to being named the winner, PT KPS underwent a rigorous judging process, which included a comprehensive proposal presentation. During the presentation, the PT KPS team detailed the company’s significant contributions to developing new and renewable energy, both domestically and internationally.

Over its 17 years of operation in Cilegon, Banten, PT KPS has manufactured 3,763 wind towers, reaching a record-breaking height of 155 meters. These towers, featuring diverse models and specifications, are now installed across the globe in 18 different countries, including the United States and Australia.

PT KPS also supplied 30 wind towers for Indonesia’s first-ever wind farm, the Sidrap Wind Power Plant (PLTB), located in the Sidenreng Rappang Regency of South Sulawesi. The construction of the Sidrap I PLTB project was completed over 2.5 years (from August 2015 to March 2018). This facility now powers over 70,000 households, supplying them with 900 Volt-Ampere (VA) of electricity.
