Los Angeles (Dec. 12, 2011) – For the first time in wind industry history, a wind tower manufacturer has completed a comprehensive, turnkey project, handling all the details from material procurement to logistics to delivery to project site. Korindo Wind, an ISO 9001:2008 certified wind tower and monopile manufacturer, has managed the entire process in delivering eight 100-meter towers to the Heritage Stoney Corners Wind Farm project near McBain Mich. for REpower Systems SE.
“This is the first time a tower supplier in the wind energy industry has handled all aspects of an order for a customer,” said Ricky Seung, president of Los Angeles-based Kousa International, exclusive agent for Korindo Wind. “Korindo Wind has been able to eliminate all the pre-delivery risk for REpower while ensuring its towers were delivered to the site on time and in pristine condition, all at a highly competitive rate. This project really illustrates the true value that Korindo Wind can provide our customers around the world.”
In addition to material procurement, manufacturing, and coordination with REpower and construction project managers, Korindo Wind incorporated its Precision LogisticsSM package into the project’s execution.
Precision Logistics is a comprehensive, risk-free logistics package that allows Korindo Wind to take care of every detail and eliminate challenges for the client in getting towers to project sites. For REpower, it included planning and coordination of logistics from Korindo Wind’s plant in Ciwandan, Indonesia to the U.S. port; use of Korindo Wind’s proprietary section-stacking system; inland transportation from port to project site; full liability insurance; everything associated with the port, including clearing customs, duties, labor and port storage; and reverse logistics of the stacking frames.
